So… What’s Human Centric?

Way back when I studied economics and read about John Maynard Keynes and the fifteen-hour workweek. Technology was going to eliminate work and give us time. Well, that didn’t happen. We’ve gained productivity, but work weeks aren’t shorter. There are a couple of reasons for this: we aren’t using our productivity to make life easier; we’re using it to create more work. And, we’ve lost sight of what business is for. Business solves problems; it doesn’t create work.

A business also shouldn’t create more problems, and that led me to the humancentric business model.

My goal is to provide you with the tools to grow consciously, create a humancentric business, and live an extraordinary life.

Who I am and why you should listen

I will leave the question of listening up to you… but here’s who I am.

I started my first business in 1996 in Germany, it was an IT consulting firm. After a few years I decided to get my MBA, so I went to UCLA Anderson and moved into sales and marketing for US Borax working in dozens of countries and cultures.

After than I joined Borax’s parent company, Rio Tinto, moved to Africa and worked on a number of projects related to business building, branding and communication from consolidating offices, to building relationships with governments and tribes to mergers and acquistions, which led to a stint as a strategy consultant.

Since 2013, I’ve been an entrepreneur working on various projects. I started the Westchester Angels invesment group where we’ve invested millions of dollars in NY area startups and also Start Grow Manage, a business focused on helping technical entrepreneurs grow.

Humancentricity came out of my frustration with entrepreneurship, and my desire to create a business that works rather than generates work.

Now I’m documenting it all and I hope you find it useful and interesting.
